Referring to your letter to ourselves of the 9th inst.,

we have seen r. Falk on the matter and he tells us that he would prefer to become a naturalised British subject because this would

obviate any possible difficulties in the future, rather than to

avail himself of the provisions of the Aliens Restriction Act.

Can you inform us whether 'r. Falk will obtain his naturalisation

upon proving that he has resided in this country for 12 months

without having to lodge a fresh Petition and Declarations. other words, will Mr. Falk be treated as having complied with all the formalities other than residence, by what he has done in
